National Training Workshop
"Good practice in maintenance and upkeep of refrigeration equipment and air conditioners, recovery and recycling of CFCs "

In 1998, Kazakhstan ratified the Vienna Convention on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer and undertook obligations on subsequent phase out of ozone depleting substances (ODS).

To implement the obligations, Kazakhstan developed the Programme for Phasing Out Ozone Depleting Substances, which includes phasing-out CFCs through:
· Provision of large CFCs users and service centers with equipment on recovery and recycling of refrigerants;
· Introduction of the best practices in maintenance and upkeep of refrigeration equipment and air conditioners and conduction of tranings for technisians;
· Practical use of vacuumed refrigerant systems.

In frames of the Programme for Phasing Out Ozone Depleting Substances in Kazakhstan, Climate Change Coordination Center in cooperation with UNEP and UNDP starts training series for technicians on maintenance and upkeep of refrigeration equipment and air conditioners.

The Training Workshop "Good practice in maintenance and upkeep of refrigeration equipment and air conditioners, recovery and recycling of CFCs" will be conducted in Astana (23-25 April), Karaganda (28-30 April), Kostanay (2 May), Kokshetau (5 May), and Petropavlovsk (7 May).

The Workshop will be attended by representatives of the Ministry of Environment Protection, CCCC, UNDP and companies dealing with maintenance and upkeep of refrigeration equipment and air conditioners.

Certificates of Participation will be given to specialists after completion of the training course and companies will be granted with modern equipment on recovery and recycling:
